Weddings on 35mm Film | What I've Learned After One Year Shooting Weddings On Film.

One year ago, I set out to add 35mm film to my already established digital wedding photography coverage. I was always drawn to the look and feel of film, but felt too intimidated to try it until then.

Just as I suspected, I fell in love with it and learned so much in the process.

Photographing weddings and engagement sessions on film forces me to slow down.

When you're limited to 36 frames, you approach each photograph with intention.

The colors are richer, the light glows in a way that can't be replicated by a digital camera, and the grain adds the perfect amount of texture and character to each image.

What I've come to love most about weddings on film is the nostalgic feeling it gives.

When I look through a gallery of film photographs, I'm reminded of the wedding albums of our parents and grandparents. The images may not be technically perfect, but they've stood the test of time. Decades later, they still feel meaningful.

Film is something I will continue to incorporate into my work for future clients. Without it, my work doesn't feel complete.
