As a wedding photographer, I’ve spent years capturing love in motion. But something changed when I started incorporating film into my work. It slowed me down. It changed how I saw light and also gave my couples a chance to experience something they didn’t realize they were missing. Film photography can create photos that feel like poetry. Today, I offer hybrid coverage—a beautiful blend of digital and film photography—because together they tell your unique story with both clarity and soul.

Why Film Photography Feels So Different

Film doesn’t just look different; it feels different.

The tones are richer. The light wraps around subjects more softly, creating a warm ambiance. Colors emerge layered with nostalgia, and there's a beautiful imperfection to it that digital photography simply can’t replicate.

When I photograph using film, I’m not merely documenting what’s happening. Instead, I’m crafting something timeless. Each frame becomes more intentional. Every image is a one-of-a-kind piece of art. This artistic approach gives a unique depth that resonates with couples long after their big day.

What Film Adds to Your Wedding Gallery

Here’s what film brings that digital can’t match:

  • A Dreamy, Nostalgic Aesthetic: Imagine flipping through your grandmother’s wedding album, but with a modern and editorial twist.

  • True-to-Life Skin Tones and Colors: Natural lighting creates authentic skin tones, especially during breathtaking golden hour.

  • A Sense of Calm: Film photography encourages us to slow down, embrace the moment, and truly savor the day.

  • Surprise and Joy: You won’t see your film images right away, but their return often feels like pure magic.

Is Film Right for You?

Film photography is perfect for couples who:

  • ✅ Desire wedding photos that feel soft, romantic, and timeless.

  • ✅ Appreciate the aesthetics of editorial or heirloom photography.

  • ✅ Want to savor and embrace the moment.

  • ✅ Are attracted to analog textures, grain, and soft pastel tones.

  • ✅ Value artistry over mere perfection.

A Few Quick FAQs

Does it cost more?

Film coverage is included as a complimentary add-on with all packages, meaning it’s free! I am currently refining my hybrid approach, so I’m covering all film costs for a limited time. My prices will rise in 2026 to reflect the added value, so booking my wedding packages now, while it’s still 2025, offers the best value!

Will we get fewer photos?

No! You’ll still receive a full gallery with hundreds of digital images. Film acts as a bonus layer that enhances your story—not replaces it.

Can we do all film?

Yes, but I recommend a hybrid approach for the best balance of artistry and coverage. I’m happy to tailor this to fit your vision.

The Emotional Impact of Film Photography

Film photography captures not just how your wedding looked, but how it felt. Memories become tangible, wrapped in feelings. The laughter, the tears, and the joy of your significant day are sealed within every frame. This is vital for couples looking to preserve their story in the most profound way.

If you want your wedding photos to feel like cherished memories from the moment you look at them, let’s talk about adding film. I reserve a limited number of hybrid weddings each year to maintain an intimate, intentional, and truly special process.
