Zachary and McKayla were married on September 27, 2025, at the beautiful Springfield Botanical Gardens in Springfield, Missouri. All shot on digital + 35mm film.

This day was absolutely beautiful, with bright blue skies and perfect early fall weather. Zachary and McKayla were so laid back, and the entire day came together seamlessly thanks to the incredible support of their family and friends. Everyone truly came together to make this day special for them.

The day started with details and getting ready moments at a friend’s downtown Springfield apartment before we made our way to the Springfield Botanical Gardens for the finishing touches before the ceremony.

Before the ceremony began, Zachary and McKayla chose to share private vows without seeing each other first. I always love this option for couples who want to wait for the aisle moment while still taking a quiet second together beforehand. It gives them space to slow down, breathe together, and soak in the emotions of the day before everything officially begins.

Their ceremony was nestled in the middle of the hosta gardens, surrounded by greenery and so many meaningful moments. One of the sweetest parts of the ceremony was when the groom’s mom sang a song for them, such a personal and emotional touch that made the entire moment feel even more special.

After the ceremony, we spent plenty of time wandering through the gardens for bride and groom portraits. We started near the ceremony site before making our way through the colorful flower gardens around the property. We even stepped into the butterfly house for a few fun portraits, which ended up being some of my favorites from the day.

One thing I especially loved about Zachary and McKayla’s wedding day was that they intentionally built in time to simply rest between portraits and the reception. Wedding days can move so quickly, and I always think it’s so important when couples allow themselves a little space to just sit together and fully take it all in.

The reception began with guests mingling, yard games scattered across the lawn, and good food shared among family and friends. I loved the simplicity and laid-back atmosphere of the afternoon. Just loved ones gathered together, laughing, celebrating, and enjoying every moment alongside Zachary and McKayla. We finished the evening with cake cutting before everyone settled in to continue celebrating the night away.
