Though most newborn sessions tend to work best indoors, sometimes it's fun to venture outside for a different look.

The Hightower family and I did just that one fall morning, and it turned out so perfectly! This park was a place they enjoyed together as a family, so it only seemed fitting to include it as the backdrop for the family portion of their newborn session. Nestled in the Briarbrook community of Carl Junction, it made the perfect setting for these memories.

I have had the pleasure of capturing the Hightower family through the years, from a family of three to now a family of six! Along the way, I've photographed many family and newborn sessions for them, making it even more special to document this season of their lives.

After the outdoor portion of the session, we headed back to their home so I could focus on capturing some images of their newest little one. I tend to keep things simple and natural during my newborn sessions. I provide a handful of wraps, blankets, baskets, and headbands, but my focus is always on keeping things natural rather than creating intricate poses. Whether the baby is wrapped up snugly or left free to stretch and move, I love embracing the little details and movements that make this stage so fleeting and special.

To finish the session, we captured a few more images of the whole family snuggled together on Mom and Dad's bed. These cozy lifestyle moments are always some of my favorites, as they beautifully capture the love, connection, and joy of welcoming a new baby home.
